                                                      O

The Brave Old Duke of York

Oh, the brave old Duke of York,

He had ten thousand men;

He marched them up to the top of the hill

And he marched them down again.

And when they were up, they were up,

And when they were down, they were down.

And when they were only half-way up,

They were neither up nor down.

Abram Brown

Old Abram Brown is dead and gone,

You'll never see him more;

He used to wear a long brown coat

That buttoned down before.

Little Bird

Once I saw a little bird

Come hop, hop, hop,

And I cried: Little bird,

Will you stop, stop, stop?

I was going to the window

To say, How do you do?

But he shook his little tail

And away he flew.

One, two, Buckle my shoe;

Three, four, Knock at the door;

Five, six, Pick up sticks;

Seven, eight, Lay them straight;

Nine, ten, A good fat hen.

One, two, three, four,

Mary's at the cottage door,

Five, six, seven, eight,

Eating cherries off a plate.

One, two, three, four, five,

Once I caught a fish alive,

Six, seven, eight, nine, ten,

Then I let it go again.

Why did you let it go?

Because it bit my finger so.

Which finger did it bite?

The little finger on the right.

Old Boniface he loved good cheer,
And took his glass of Burton,
And when the nights grew sultry
/душный, жаркий/ hot
He slept without a shirt on.

Oh, rare /необычный, редкий/ Harry Parry,
When will you marry?
When apples and pears are ripe.
I'll come to your wedding
Without any bidding
And dance and sing all the night.

One misty, moisty /сырой; влажный/ morning,
When cloudy was the weather,
There I met an old man
All clothed in leather /
All clothed in leather,
With a cap under his chin /
How do you do?
And how do you do?
And how do you do again?

On top of spaghetti,
All covered with cheese ,
I lost my poor meatball /
When somebody sneezed /

It rolled off the table
And onto the floor,
And then my poor meatball
Rolled right out the door!

It rolled in a garden
And under a bush
Now my poor meatball
Was nothing but mush /

The mush was as tasty
As tasty could be
Early next summer
It grew into a tree

The tree was all covered
With beautiful moss /мох/
It grew lovely meatballs
In a tomato sauce

So if you like spaghetti
All covered with cheese
Hold on to your meatballs
And DON'T EVER SNEEZE!

                           Three little foxes

Once upon a time there lived three little foxes

Who kept their handkerchiefs in cardboard boxes

They lived in the forest in three little houses

But they didn't wear coats and they didn't wear trousers

Old King Cole
Was a merry old soul,
And a merry old soul was he;
He called for his pipe,
And he called for his bowl,
And he called for his fiddlers three.
Every fiddler, he had a fiddle,
And a very fine fiddle had he;
Twee tweedle dee, tweedle dee, went the fiddlers.
Oh, there's none so rare
As can compare /
With King Cole and his fiddlers three.

!
